The Sycamore is one of the busiest places you can find on Mission Street on any day at night. It is filled with warm ambience, routinely changing works of art, jukeboxes from a different time, and people who seek a retreat at night. One is reminded of "dive bars' at the entrance by its look can later to find out that the foods and drinks are more refined.

The outdoor backyard is the secret gem of the place. A pleasant physical experience is guaranteed by heaters and overhead canopies, the tall, empty wall on the side always has something being projected on, sometimes it is a movie, sometimes an animation, sometimes a visual artwork that can be hard to understand.

At certain days of a week, the host organizes trivia games for all of the guests in the backyard. A larger group has a higher chance of winning, but not alwasy.
Be prepared to have a stranger sit next to you to start a chat. This is an informal norm.

Foods are delicious, many options are sharable for groups. Yeah, what a great place to enjoy some simple time with friends.

If you are looking for a comfortable, chill vibe to hang out with others, or to embrace random encounters with friendly strangers, The Sycamore is a wonderful choice. You probably won't know what to expect until it happens, and that is okay.
